Filming is the art of developing an idea and vision into story-telling. A process that I believe, if well done, should reach out to any human being, because we are "communicating animals." While the most used language is made of words, since we are using the common language of visual communication, body language, along with sounds and music, we should be able to touch the feelings and penetrate the soul of everyone watching. A "bang" remains a bang and so is a smile, a kiss, a cold piece of ice or a couple holding each other and they retain the same significance whether you are African, Asian, American or European. If I can reach out to any audience, beyond their cultural vocabulary, and make them watch my work and understand most of the story, I already have the feeling that I have succeeded in communicating the essential.
